Museum of asiatic Arts

Museum of asiatic Arts
Discover the splendours of Asian art
In Nice and inaugurated in 1998, it is the work of the Japanese architect Kenzo Tange. All in white marble, integrated into an artificial lake, it charms visitors by the sobriety of its lines and its technical peculiarities. This museum, whose aim is to look at Asian culture in depth owes its originality to the presentation of its collections and its introduction to the Asian lifestyle.
The curator of the museum, Marie-Pierre Foissy-Aufrère (who was also curator of the Musée du Petit Palais in Avignon), manages to share the discovery of representative works of Asian art with that of the daily and religious traditional rituals that have marked the different epochs in their countries. Then depending on the calendar of events, after admiring exhibitions of paintings, objects, textiles and ceramics, visitors can attend a tea ceremony, listen to a recital or enjoy a dance performance.
