Where is the Domaine du Colombier?

On the Côte d’Azur/French Riviera, between Cannes and St-Tropez, 1.5km from the center of Fréjus and 4.5km from the fine sandy beaches of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël.

Do I have to wear the security bracelet?

Yes! The unbreakable plastic anti-allergenic security bracelet must be worn at all times. It will be given to you upon arrival and must be worn around your wrist or ankle.

What rating does the campsite have?

As of 27.07.2012 we are a 5 star campsite!

How big is the Domaine du Colombier? How is it laid out?

The Domaine du Colombier is a 10 hectare park with 383 plots, of which 95% is made up of modern, French-designed mobile homes, lodges and holiday homes. The other 5 percent is still dedicated to traditional camping. The hilly nature of the site means it is not suited for persons with reduced mobility.

Are there shady spots?

This depends on the area. Not all the trees are fully grown and we have tried to create a new exotic environment.

What type of people come to Domaine du Colombier?

Domaine du Colombier didn’t wait for the Maastricht treaty to become European. The atmosphere during the holidays is great. Most of our clients are couples (young and old) and families. It is well known that language is no barrier for friendship between children.

When is Domaine du Colombier open?

We are open from Easter to mid-October. All our facilities (entertainment, restaurant, supermarket, swimming pools, Spa, Vitality pool) are available from the opening to the closure of the site. Reservations can be made from the beginning of November from 9am-12pm and from 2pm-6pm. 

Is there a bus service into town?

Yes, the bus stop is almost directly in front of the campsite entrance. To go to the town centre, the railway station or the beach it costs €1.10 (price 2014). A 10-journey ticket costing €10 can be purchased at the Fréjus or Saint-Raphaël bus stations.

Are pets welcome at the Domaine du Colombier and at the beach?

Pets are welcome during your camping holiday on the French Riviera at Domaine du Colombier, but please ensure that they are kept on a lead and that their vaccination papers are in order. Cleaning up after them is your responsibility. There is supplement of €5 per pet per day (maximum 2 pets). Regarding their access to the beach: it is forbidden, except when kept on a lead on a certain part of Les Esclamandes beach in Saint-Aygulf, 6km from the Domaine du Colombier.

How far is the railway station from the Domaine du Colombier?

Fréjus train station is 1.5km from the campsite. The autotrain and sleeper train is 4.5km away. Saint-Raphaël-Valescure TGV train station is 8km away and the bus serving the Domaine du Colombier is the number 1 or 1bis.

What activities are there for teenagers?

From opening till closing, 6 days out of 7, the animation team offers activities such as sports tournaments, water games, creative workshops, party nights at the Events room. For more information about the activities for Teens, head to Entertainment.

What do I need to know about Events room?

The Events room is a multipurpose space where cinema nights, mini-disco, bingo evenings, dance evenings and shows take place.
Shows and DJ nights: access prohibited for under 16′s when unaccompanied by an adult (parents). In high season the Mini and Maxi club welcome your children on Thursday evenings so that you can enjoy the most amazing shows (alcoholic beverages available). Access to other events not serving alcohol is permitted for unaccompanied minors over 13 of age. Under 13′s welcome when accompanied by an adult at these non alcohol events.

The Events room is open once a week in low season and  4 times a week in high season.
High season: July and August.

Is there a mini club for children at the Domaine du Colombier?

Yes, a multilingual entertainment team is in charge of activities for children 6 days a week. From 10.30am till 12.00pm and 4.30pm till 6pm they can freely participate in the jewellery, cooking and craft workshops, face painting,ball games, treasure hunt and painting sessions. And let’s not forget the tea party, the children’s playgrounds, the sports pitches and waterslides at the pool complex.

What can I find at the Domaine du Colombier swimming pool complex?

Next to the crystal clear waters of the swimming pool, slides, a lazy river, a fun paddling pool, a larger pool and whirlpool await you beneath the deck of the Panoramique restaurant. The vast 3600m² Lagoon pool complex is a firm family favourite with its submerged beaches, relaxation islands and small bridges crossing the river. Slides and fun water games will entertain young and old in this idyllic setting. On the other sitde of the campsite, there is a 600m² heated Vitality pool available to over 18′s and at additional cost. Our Vitaly pool is not medically endorsed. Wearing the security bracelet is mandatory and swimming shorts are strictly prohibited at the Lagoon and Vitality pool.

The beautiful, clean lined, 30m by 20m pool, offers you a series of gentle workouts to exercise your body in the warm water. Numerous hydrojets, anatomically designed waterbenches, lumbar massaging area, geyser treatment for the feet, aqua bike, aqua cross-trainer, aqua jogging, aquagym area, submerged beach, cardio fitness Equipment and three swimming lanes are available at our Vitality pool. A large solarium and two heated hot tubs, overlooking the pool, give you an amazing view over the Crystal-clear water.The adjustable sunbeds, set out amongst the palm trees, are there for your optimum enjoyment and relaxation. A cardio fitness area is perfectly situated next to the pool. The 1600m² complex is a private area reserved for adults (+18 years) and is not medically endorsed. Access is available at additionnal cost. Wearing the security bracelet is mandatory and swimming shorts are strictly prohibited. 

What services does the Spa have to offer?

The stunning Spa welcome those seeking rest and relaxation. Enjoy body treatments, facials, steam bath, hydrojet massage bed and nail bar. Several cabins including a couples treatment room will charm you with their decoration and atmosphere. Access available at additionnal cost. Our Spa is not medically endorsed. Wearing the security bracelet is mandatory and swimming shorts are strictly prohibited.

What products are used in the Spa packages at the Domaine du Colombier?

Two products are offered. The brand of products used in our treatment packages is our choice. Thalgo, leader in thalassotherapy, offers a genuine marine based expertise to meet your needs. Oxygen, the signature treatments of our Spa, is an invitation to discover massages from different parts of the world and oriental rituals. The brand of products used in our treatment packages is our choice.

Are the Vitality pool and Spa medically endorsed?

No, the massages offered as part of our beauty treatments are purely aesthetic treatments and offered for relaxation purposes not therapeutic purposes. Appointments with a reflexologist or physiotherapist can be made on request. 

Which kind of sports can I do within 10km of the campsite?

Really active people will have to deal with one problem: choosing from the many sports on offer: fishing, water skiing, sailing, jet-skiing, scuba diving, Go Karting, horse-riding, tennis, golf, hiking…

Is there a doctor at the Domaine du Colombier?

If you need one, it can be arranged for a doctor or nurse to come to your plot. If necessary, our receptionists can make you an appointment with a specialist. At the pool complex and the Vitality pool there are first aid points. The Domaine du Colombier has 4 defibrillators available and the staff are trained for their use. 

Is the Domaine du Colombier lit up at night?

Yes, both the roads and the sanitary blocks (resembling small Provencal houses) are lit up in and outside.

Can I park my vehicle on my plot?

Yes if not directly on the plot then very close by.

Are there any nudist beaches nearby?

Yes, a nudist beach can be found at the far end of the Les Esclamades beach in Fréjus- Saint Aygulf, 6km from the Domaine du Colombier.

Is there easy access to the sea for persons with reduced mobility?

Yes, near to the lifeguard hut on Capitole beach in Fréjus, at the Base Nature beach and near the “Kiosque 9″ in Saint-Aygulf, there is a ramp with a special seat to take people with reduced mobility safely down to the water’s edge.

Is there a car rental service?

Yes, but you have to go into town to pick them up. Average prices: for a small car (Renault Twingo) start at €50/day, €255/5 days. More information about car hire can be found at CarGo.

Is it possible to hire a bike?

Yes you can hire a bike on site. Average prices: Junior mountain bike €8/day, €45/week.

What are the sanitary blocks like at the Domaine du Colombier?

The sanitary blocks resemble small Provencal houses and are equipped with individual cubicles with (drinkable) cold and hot water. The sanitary blocks are cleaned every day. There are also waste disposal points for chemical toilets. Both sanitary blocks are heated during the low season to provide more comfort for the campers. There is a special baby area with baby bath and changing table and free hair dryers are available.

What interesting activities are there for adults?

The pétanque tournaments followed by an aperitif for the players are always a big success. The aquagym, volleyball, basketball, mini football (Futsal) and half-court tennis tournaments are also good fun. There are also soap, candle and jewellery making classes as well as t-shirt painting  to entice creative types. An excursion to a nearby vineyard and chance to try some Côte de Provence wines is not to be missed.  For those interested in exploring the region, we offer coach trips to Monaco, Vintimiglia and the Verdon Gorge and boat trips allowing you to admire the French Riviera on the way to St-Tropez. We have also created 2 intineraries allowing you to take your car and discover the countryside at your own pace (the Olive-oil mill in Callas, Lake Saint Cassien and Montaroux). At night, enjoy the lively dinner shows: cabarets, music nights, karaoke… at the bar-restaurant. You can always prolong you evening at the Events room.

Is access to the Domaine du Colombier restricted?

Yes. The Domaine du Colombier is guarded day and night and is completely closed. The kids can run around and ride their bikes without a care in the world! Visitors such as friends and family are allowed. If the visit will last longer than 2 hours they will have to pay a camper’s tax for security resons and so the facilities are not overpopulated. Guests who are not welcoming visitors like to know that the vistors of others are paying for the facilities in the same way they are. Depending on the season and the number of guests, the Domaine du Colombier retains the right to limit (or even refuse) visitors, in particular for certain families who  ”frequently” receive visitors.

What payment methods are accepted at the Domaine du Colombier?

Nearly all kind of payments are accepted: credit card (Visa, Eurocard-Mastercard) and cash.

What type of holiday accommodation is available at the Domaine du Colombier?

At the Domaine du Colombier there are:

- Camping pitches  (including electricity) for tents, motor homes or caravans. The size of each plot varies depending on the topography of the land, that’s why we created 2 different categories: M (Medium 80 m²) and L (Large 100 m²).
- Modern high quality mobile homes. These mobile homes, lodges and holiday homes are available in a variety of differend models and with increasing levels of comfort from air conditioning, sheets and towels up to dishwasher and private Jacuzzi®.

Each mobile home, lodge and holiday home can comfortably house one family (children and parents). For large families (blended families or those accompanied by grandparents), we also offer mobile homes, lodges and holiday homes with 3 bedrooms and 1 or 2 bathrooms. 


What facilities are available?

At the entrance to the Domaine du Colombier, there is a supermarket selling bread, croissants, fruit and veg etc. and also newspapers.

The ”Panoramique” bar-restaurant, right in the middle of the campsite, offers a stunning view accross the Esterel-mountains and the coast. Traditional meals are served and there is also a take-away service for pizzas and chips. Booking recommended.

Step into an exotic atmosphere at the Paillote restaurant, overlooking the Vitality pool. You will love the menu with dishes from all around the world and the wide range of cocktails can be enjoyed under the straw hut. Booking recommended.

The Events room is the place to be for some of the many evening events.

The vast 3800m² heated Lagoon pool complex with its paddling pool, waterslides and fun water games is a firm family favourite.

The facilities and treatments available at the 1600m² Vitality pool and Spa complex are available at additional cost.

Outdoor fitness machines, available free for all the family allow you to have fun and keep fit!

The cardio-training area is located next to the Vitality pool (included in the entry price): Rowing machines, cross-trainers and running machines are available for your fitness training.

The campsite has wifi coverage almost everywhere on site (wifi access cards can be purchased at reception or the Tourist Office).

A Tourist Office is available on site where you can find brochures on the region, and book trips or sporting activities. There is also a library, DVD rental and a cyberspace area with computers (with AZERTY and QWERTY keyboards).

Safes, barbeques, fridges, sheets and towels, baby sets and bikes are available to hire.

Postal service is available on site.

Washing machines (with washing powder included) and tumble dryers are available on site (€0.50, €1, €2)

Access to the sport pitches, which are lit until 11pm, is free and equipment is available for free from the reception and the Tourist Office.

A communal barbecue and picnic area is located close to the playgrounds.
